Military Magistracy
As part of a research undertaken in 2018 by Prof. Giovanni Focardi, and still in progress, the collection of the names of Italian military magistrates in service between 1914 and 1981 was started. The research has so far identified 400 names – constituting the first nucleus of the Registry of the Italian Military Magistracy – whose essential information has been recovered: date and place of birth, entry into service or chronological details of career, military rank, function(s) performed, places of service.
Not for all subjects the data is complete, and this first group is a fraction of all military magistrates who served, with different functions and for more or less long periods, in Military Justice. However, this is the first piece of a puzzle that will be expanded by further research. Subsequent additions will also implement this first database, specifying and increasing the information on individual subjects, enabling quantitative and qualitative research to be launched or refined.
On the ARCHOS platform, in-depth biographical files on an initial nucleus of military magistrates are also available.
